How to Choose the Perfect Pyjamas

There are so many styles of pajamas out there these days, how do you pick the best for you? The main things to consider are materials, style and how much you have to spend. So here are some things for you to consider.

 Fleece or Flannel Pajamas

These are the warmest fabrics you can get your pajamas in so if you live in a cold climate then these could be your best options. Very soft and comfortable,  they are suitable for the whole family.

 Silk Pajamas

Loose silk pajamas are perfect if you live in a hotter climate. The silk will feel great against the skin and allow cool air to circulate. Real silk is a natural fabric and better if you have skin allergies. Artificial silk is less expensive but could irritate your skin but is easier to wash and take care of.

 Cotton Pajamas

Cotton is very lightweight and breathable and will not irritate the skin.  It is not good at insulating in cold weather though so if you live in a cold climate then this might not be the best option. Cotton can be more flammable than other materials so this needs to be considered. A lot of cotton pajamas are made flame resistant these days so check the labels.

 Footed Pajamas

These are usually styles for babies or young kids but now adult sized onesies can be seen in all different fabrics and colours. Great for sleeping in or just lounging about, they are comfortable and warm. You can find a style for any taste out there.

Price

Another factor to consider is price. What is your budget? Real silk pajamas are going to cost more but feel great against the skin. If you can’t afford this there are some great fake silk fabrics out there to choose from. Be aware if your skin gets irritated easily though as the cheaper fabrics can be rough on the skin.

Style, Colour and Pattern

So you’ve chosen your fabric but what about colour and pattern? There are many to choose from, ranging from block colour to stripes and spots and cute animal patterns. Also you have to consider the style. If you are in a colder climate then the full pajama or onesie might be best for you. If you live in a warmer climate then a shorts and vest set or night dress might be your best choice. And of course it’s your personal preference.

So consider where you live, how much you have to spend, any skin conditions and your personal style preference and you will find the perfect pajama set for you.
